Yesterday, I doubled my pleasure and my fun by watching another baby a few weeks younger than Colton. This is pretty par for the course on Wednesdays now (except when I was stricken by the stomach flu), and I thought I’d share a few peeks of my now-typical, and butt-kicking Wednesday:

You may not be able to tell, but my baby is a toy snatcher.

I try to let the babies play together or next to each other (sometimes one is in the exasaucer and one is on the floor) so they can entertain each other when they’re both awake. And, hallelujah, it buys me enough time to get the other baby’s things set up (diapers, clothes, bottles, etc), fix food, or actually sit down and maybe even look at a magazine, depending on what needs to be done at any given moment.

Apparently, I am the only one who thought this was fun. Or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself.

I also try to spend some time out of the house. I think this helps me keep my sanity, and the air and sunshine are good for all of us. However, I went on a walk with both babies one day, and do not advocate anyone who enjoys sanity and life in general try this. Besides taking me a hour and a half to get them both ready for a walk, I had to carry one in the baby bjorn and stroll the other since I don’t have a double stroller. Since both babies are now over 17 lbs, this will not be happening again.

Check out the sun hats!

But this will. Yeah, it take some juggling to get them both outside without really leaving one unattended (put one baby by the door, take one baby out, run and grab the other baby so no one can snatch the one that’s sitting outside!), but it was worth it. The three toys entertained both babies, as did passing cars and birds. Colton was also entertained by the dirt.

Double the crying!

And on Wednesdays, I just embrace my lost sanity and go with the crying. Because what else can you do?

Have you watched double babies before? How do you cope? I really do need more coping strategies!

Just a 20-something girl living on the East Coast, trying to figure out life. I'm a wife and mom to two. I'm trying to rediscover my love for long walks, yoga and pilates. But not hiking. I still don't like hills. I was raised at the beach, but I don't like the beach. I like to look at it, but I don't like to swim in it, I'd prefer a pool, thanks. I'm just trying to become the best person I can be -- the woman God wants me to be. That's easier said than done!

Hubby is my all-time favorite guy. A perfect mix of serious, sarcastic, laid-back, handy and nerdy, he is the perfect complement to me. I love his strong work-ethic and the way he always loves and supports me through everything. Some of Hubby's favorite things include: hiking, Virginia Tech football, woodworking, and his family. When I married him in July 2007, I had no idea what an amazing journey we were headed on, and how I could come to love him so much more each day.

Our oldest, Colton, is three years old. He is equal parts sassy and hysterical. He loves all things train, car, bus, truck, and machine related. He has a penchant for made-up words and loves to be the clown of his pre-school class. Our younger son, Nathan, was born this May. He is pure joy and full of smiles! He is such a blessing and a perfect fit for our family.
