My mom makes KILLER BBQ ribs. I don’t.
I’ve actually never tried to make them, because the thought of ruining what would be a grocery store splurge for me seriously frightens me.
Until, that is, I made these ribs in the crock pot.
If you make no other recipe I ever share, PLEASE MAKE THIS ONE! It is soo, soo good! So good, that I have no photos, because these are GONE!
Here’s what you need:
* 2 small onions, peeled and sliced
* 12 short ribs (I bought a full rack and cut them myself to save $. You can use beef or pork, depending on your rib preference).
* Salt and Pepper
* 1 Cup water
* 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
* 1 cup BBQ sauce (your preference)
* 1 envelope onion soup mix
Here’s what you do:
Place the onions in the bottom of a 5 quart crock pot. Season ribs with salt and pepper and place on top of onion.
In a small bowl, stir together all remaining ingredients. Pour over ribs. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
Serves 6.

I cannot tell you how much you will love these! And the onions (I used videlia) got soft, sweet and barbecue tasting. YUM!

When you make them what type of BBQ sauce do you use? And do you prefer Beef or Pork?

Victoria,
I use Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce — it is my all-time favorite, and I use it for every kind of BBQ I make! They have a couple different varieties, and I used a combo of their original sauce and their honey BBQ flavor. I prefer pork for barbecuing!
