Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Should Be Reading. Here’s how it works:

Grab your current read

Open to a random page

Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

“It is so hard to generalize about doctors and their philosophies, except to say that in the course of writing this book, we interviews many obstetricians who told us that in medical school and even up until the present, many of them had never seen a normal, natural, unassisted birth. This means that for many doctors, their context for birth includes some level of intervention.”

Edited to Add: I don’t necessarily agree with this Teaser, or everything in this book, but thought it would make an interesting Teaser. I do plan on having an assisted, hospital birth! While I find this book interesting, I am finding that some of the ideas and concepts are a bit “new-age” for me. What I do like, so far, is the idea to focus on what you want birth to be like, rather than what you fear it will be like.
