• Do you snack while you read? Its not my preference, but I do a lot of reading at breakfast and on my lunch break at work. The rest of the time I read though, I don’t normally eat.
  • Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you? It horrifies me! Actually, I like the idea of writing in books, but it seems like a very personal thing to do in a public way.
  • How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open? If its a library book, hard-back book or a new book — bookmark. If its an older, paperback book, I’ll dog-ear.
  • Fiction, Non-fiction, or both? All fiction, with rare exceptions.
  • Hard copy or audiobooks? Hard copy.
  • Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point? I like stopping at the end of a chapter, or at line breaks within the chapter, but I do also stop at ends of paragraphs. It depends on what I’m reading and where I’m reading it.
  • If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away? Never.
  • What are you currently reading? I just finished Bones of Faerie (literaly just — 5 minutes ago!) and I’m trying to decide if I want to start Sent, Interred With Their Bones, or something else.
  • What is the last book you bought? Laurie R King’s The Moor, along with a few other assorted bargin books, I think.
  • Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time? I typically only read one book at a time. Right now, I’m reading my Bible at breakfast and another book during the day, but I don’t really count that as having two books going.
  • Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to read? I love reading first thing in the morning in bed, but I never really get the chance to!
  • Do you prefer series books or stand alone books? I really don’t have a preference.
  • Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over? Laurie R. King, Barbara Kingsolver and Gloria Naylor (please read Mama Day!)
  • How do you organize your books? I have no real system, besides my “To Be Read” Shelf. I have all my Harry Potter books on the same shelf, but they’re there with a random assortment of African and mystery novels. I suppose I just arranged them in a way that looks nice visually — no real rhyme or reason to it.
